Preparing charts for a private review
What to print, what to leave blank, and how to describe your current rules before a ninety-minute chart critique.
Private reviews move quickly. The traders who gain most arrive with two equities already printed on weekly and daily timeframes, levels drawn in pencil, and a short note explaining why each line exists.
Bring six to eighteen months on the weekly and three to six months on the daily. Mark only what you currently trust — not every idea you abandoned last year. If you use coloured pens, keep a legend; we will ask what each colour means.
Write three sentences before you sit down: how you choose a new level, how you decide a level has failed, and which of the two equities feels harder to map. That note saves the first fifteen minutes of interview time and leaves more room for critique.
Leave indicator panes off the printed sheets when possible. Oscillators can return later; the review is about horizontal structure. If your broker screenshot cannot hide them, say so — we will still work, but the conversation stays on the highs, lows, and closes.
